The Slate doorbell chime cover is a handcrafted wooden box — 4 solid sides with a decorative laser-cut front panel — built to slip over your existing chime unit and transform your entryway instantly. Available in vertical or horizontal orientation to match your chime and your décor. Made to your exact interior dimensions in our Montréal workshop.

MATERIALS & FINISH OPTIONS

• Sides: Premium cherry veneered plywood — solid, clean edges
• Front: Decorative laser-cut panel — Slate pattern

Choose your finish:

• Unfinished — sanded to 180 grit, ready for your own paint or stain
• Primer White — clean base coat, ready for your own paint
• Gloss White — bright, clean finish
• Dark Walnut — deep, rich brown tone
• Rich Mahogany — warm reddish-brown tone
• American Walnut — classic medium walnut tone
• Spanish Oak — warm golden oak tone
• Pickling White — light whitewash, wood grain visible

All finishes are applied by hand in our Montréal workshop before shipping.

ORIENTATION

• Vertical — taller than wide, ideal for most standard chime units mounted upright
• Horizontal — wider than tall, ideal for chime units mounted on their side

• With bottom — fully enclosed box, clean look on all sides
• No bottom — open base, ideal if wires or a power cord exit from the bottom of your chime unit

HOW TO MEASURE

All dimensions refer to the INTERIOR opening — the space your chime unit must fit into. Measure the width and height of your chime unit and add at least 1/4" on each side for clearance.

How do I know which size to order?
Measure the width and height of your existing chime unit. Choose the size where the interior dimensions are at least 1/4" larger than your chime on each side. Still unsure? Send us a photo and we'll recommend the right size.

Vertical or horizontal?
Look at how your chime unit is mounted. If it's taller than wide, choose vertical. If it's wider than tall, choose horizontal. Still unsure? Send us a photo.

With bottom or no bottom?
Look at the bottom of your chime unit. If wires or a power cord exit from the bottom, choose No bottom. If the unit is fully self-contained and mounts flush to the wall, choose With bottom.

How is it installed?
L-brackets are included. Simply slide the cover over your chime unit and secure the brackets to the wall. No drilling into the cover required. Installation takes under 10 minutes.

Can I paint or stain it?
Yes. The unfinished option ships sanded to 180 grit — smooth and ready for any paint, stain or varnish. We also offer 7 ready-to-ship finishes. See options above.
